Washing machines are deceptively heavy — most weigh 60 to 90 kilograms thanks to the concrete counterweights inside. They're jammed into tight laundry spaces, still connected to taps and drains, and often half-full of water when they die. Getting one out of the house is a genuinely hard job, and the council red bin is no help.
Our washing machine disposal service handles all of it. We disconnect the hoses, deal with any leftover water, carry the machine out through tight doorways and down steps, and load it onto the truck. Every machine we collect is recycled: the steel drum and body, the copper in the motor, and the other components are separated and given a second life rather than going to landfill. We cover all of Christchurch and surrounding towns with same-week pickups.
